The educational value of the wrong thing

I’m getting this vague sense that I’m pressing down on myself…
There’s a splendid opportunity here!

I have a chance to get much MUCH more clear on What I Don’t Want, by exaggerating my tendency and perhaps receiving a burst of clarity about my habit.

Here I go, exaggeratissimo!
My head is pushing down into my neck… Go for it, head, push on down!
My neck pushes down into my torso…
My arms pull down on my ribs…
And my legs pull in toward my hip joints.

Yup, I can feel the full effect of that! Thanks for the helpful clarification!

That is what I don’t want.

I can’t make myself lighten up by dint of direct effort, but I sure as heck can do less (perhaps even none?) of my habit.

And I can invite myself:

~ To stop, take time, refrain…

~ To let the ground beneath me receive my weight (thanks, gravity).

~ To allow the ground support to come right up through me…

~ To radiate outward, let my ribs balance and move around my center…

~ To let my head poise easily atop my springy spine.

What I Do Want arrives via my undoing the squash-down-pull-in habit…
and via my vivid wish to lighten and expand.

The invitation ushers in the right thing. Which does itself. And that teaches me.

Will I tighten again? You bet! Perhaps in the next second.

But as The Man himself said:
